Songfacts®:

  • Surprise released on December 31, 2019, this song finds Morgan Wallen reflecting on all the evenings he used to spend in his hometown watering hole. It was there he learned some valuable life lessons with the help of a group of pals.

I found myself in this bar
Makin' mistakes and makin' new friends
I was growin' up and nothin' made sense
Buzzin' all night like neon in the dark
I found myself in this bar

Said Wallen: "Wrote this song with my buddies about some moments and times in my life that have made me who I am today. Some good, some bad, but all of em I can look back on and grin a little. Hope it makes you do the same."
  • Morgan Wallen brought "This Bar" to life when he opened This Bar And Tennessee Kitchen in Nashville on June 1, 2024. The country star chose the name to reflect the track's theme of "finding myself in 'this bar.'" He added the "Tennessee Kitchen" to the title specifically to emphasize his East Tennessee heritage and feature a Southern menu inspired by his roots.
