Rat from Bakui feel like this song is surely in the storyline. i've seen a lot of people say that the woman killed him, but honestly i think the lines "I'm coming back from the dead and I’ll take you home with me" and "I’m taking back the life you stole" are the ones he's saying to the devil that made a deal with him to kill 1000 evil men.

about "This hole you put me in wasn't deep enough and I'm climbing out right now. You're running out of places to hide from me" i feel like that's also for the devil and 'the hole' is hell where he can escape if he kills the men.

"And then I'll be with you" this one is to the woman that he's trying to reunite with again.

i'm not sure though, these are just what i think

Taya from BrisbaneI think the other meaning of this song (other than the concept of the album) somehow portraying a person who's already overcame his depression in which somehow wants to avenge or challenge his "past" self that almost got him killed ("Do you remember that day when we met","You told me this gets harder", "Well, it did"). Its like a statement to his old suicidal/depression self that he is now recovered and going back to live a "supposedly" normal life that he once lived before he got into that depression state ("The damage you've inflicted, temporary wounds","I'm coming back from the dead and I’ll take you home with me","I’m taking back the life you stole"). He is accepting the fact that his "past" self is a part of him that will always come back and could eventually kill him for good the next time depression attacked (If living was the hardest part

Jordan from Salt Lake City, UtI Don't think She acually killed him. Since the album is him killing 1000 people to see her again, why would she kill him. I think he's saying He's spent his eternity killing people and its been so long so he's angry, (taking back the life you stole) But then he realises that he'll finally get to see her (and ill be with you). And the hole he climbs out of could be the graves of the murderd ones that she basically made him do, so he could see her, or the whole is the emotional burden of having to do that.

I think that it means once the woman sees the error of her ways, in death, once revenge is gained, they can finally be together again.
Ashli from Chicago, Ili picked up on the murder, too, and how he wanted revenge on the chick who killed him. it's pretty apparant in the first couple of lines, when he says "for what you did to me, and what i'll do to you" and when he says "i'm taking back the life you stole."

You're running out of places to hide from me." kinda said that. I thought that she felt guilty or that he was haunting her or something and that she's panicking because she's scared that someone will find out what she did, and then it could be that he literally DOES come back, and get revenge on her by dragging her to the grave with him.
