Album: A Cherry Cherry Christmas (2009)

Songfacts®:

  • This is a cover of a humorous song by actor-comedian Adam Sandler, in which he lists famous Jews (and a few Gentiles). Diamond's version features lyrical alterations including the change from "Tom Cruise isn't but I think his agent is" to "Tom Cruise isn't, but Jesus Christ is."
  • Guitarist DJ Ashba, who joined Guns N' Roses the same year, produced and performed on the track.
  • Despite not being a Christmas song, Diamond included it on his Yuletide album, A Cherry Cherry Christmas as a reflection of his own Jewish faith. He explained to The Daily Telegraph December 4, 2009: "I thought I'd throw one in there for my people, too, because we always feel a little left out around this time of year. Christmas music is amazingly evocative to people of all religions and cultures."
  • The song's animated video, which celebrates the festival of lights, was created and produced by Tektoniq/Vision Films.
