Songfacts®:

  • Young penned this sweet piano ballad about watching his baby granddaughter play. The Canadian singer-songwriter debuted the tune during his solo set at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on June 1, 2010 when he explained the track is a tribute to the newest member of his family. They were the only words he spoke that night.
  • Young can be seen performing the song on the documentary film Neil Young Journeys where director Jonathan Demme splices footage from a May 2011 gig at Toronto's Massey Hall with the singer's three-hour car drive to the venue from his childhood home of Omemee, Ontario.
