Songfacts®:

  • New Hollow are an American teen rock band from New Albany, Ohio comprising Mick Clouse (lead vocals, guitar), Chad Blashford (drums, back-up vocals) and Evan West (lead vocals, keyboard, bass). The trio initially began playing together before they'd reached their teens under the name Monkee Hollow and the group really took off once they started attending New Albany Middle School. They played their first major gig at the New Albany Classic in August 2010, as the opening act for American Idol star David Archuleta.
  • This self-penned story of unrequited teenage love is New Hollow's debut single, which was marketed by girl's fashion retailer Justice. It was released on November 1, 2010 and made Billboard history by topping the Billboard Physical CD Singles Sales Charts at #1 for two consecutive weeks with no radio play.
  • New Hollow came up with band's name from a merging of "New" from New Albany (a small suburb in Columbus, Ohio), with "Hollow" from a street sign they passed during a trip to Cleveland.
