  • Nick Jonas sings here of having so many regrets about a past relationship that he can't help but break things.

I'll take a chainsaw to the sofa where I held your body close for so long
I'll burn everything that binds us
Take a lighter to the mattress and run

Jonas said during a Reddit AMA:"I think the song Chainsaw, people will see is incredibly vulnerable and personal. It's about walking back to the house you shared a lot of memories in with somebody. All the feelings that come with that, and kind of working through some of it, and I think that everyone has something in their life that they need to let go of, and Chainsaw represents that way of letting go. And it's actually been helpful for me, and hopefully will be helpful for other people."
  • The moody music video finds Jonas walking around an empty house haunted by the memories of the ex-girlfriend that he shared it with. After taking a tour of the home, Jonas gets destructive and torches everything. His ex-girlfriend is played by Portuguese Victoria's Secret model Sara Sampaio.

"Collaborating with [director] Luke Monaghan was really special as this is an incredibly personal song and the performance in the video had to represent that," Jonas told Vogue. "Also, getting to work with my close friend Sara Sampaio was amazing. Not only is she gorgeous, but her acting skills were definitely on display in her performance."
  • Nick Jonas was at his home up in Mammoth, California, when he found himself feeling drowned by memories off his former girlfriend, so he wrote this song about the need to find a way to be at peace with the end of the relationship.

Jonas told Billboard magazine that he considers this to be the most personal song he's ever written. "It came out pretty easily from the beginning," Jonas said. "The thing with a song you feel really strongly about is you run the risk of overthinking it, and you can get to the point where maybe you lose some of the magic of it. But I was conscious of that. Even a month after just trying to get it perfect, there were moments where it felt like maybe we had pushed it too far, but sometimes you have to let it be what it is."
