• "Halo (Disappear/Reappear)" is the second track on Noah Gundersen's sophomore album, Carry the Ghost.
  
  The song started out as an acoustic ballad reminiscent of the Fleet Foxes that Gundersen wrote about a year before recording the album. But once he was with his band in the studio, the tune took a louder direction.
  
  "The crescendo with the yelling vocals, it was something that was actually my bass player and engineer's idea," Gundersen explained in his Songfacts interview. "It was just to change up the monotony of the tune, and then all of a sudden the whole thing came to life."
  
  He continued about their creative breakthrough, "It was a cool moment in the studio because we'd spent most of the day working on this song, and it felt like it hadn't really gone anywhere until that idea came about."
