Songfacts®:

  • The first single from Chasing Yesterday was inspired by a documentary that Gallagher saw, in which an astronaut commented that going into space for the first time feels like touching the face of God. "If that's not an opening line for a song I don't know what is," he said.
  • During a Facebook Q&A prior to the single's release, Gallagher commented on the song, "Is it great? Of course it is. What does it mean? It don't meant anything."
  • Gallagher dithered about the Chasing Yesterday album title until he had to submit it. He said: "I must have changed it 12 times, and in the end one of the girls from my office said, 'It's literally going up to pre-order tomorrow – what's it called?' I had to sit and go through some of the lyrics and pulled out ('Chasing Yesterday'). As soon as it went out, I thought, 'I hate it.'"

"Did I have any working titles? Dark Side Of The Room,' 'Wheat Is Murder'..."
