Songfacts®:

  • The McCartney family happened to stop by on the day this song was recorded, and they were enlisted to provide 1970s terrace-chant backing vocals. "The only way I could stop them all running about everywhere was to put them in the studio," producer Giles Martin told NME.
  • Giles Martin recalled to NME: "When we did 'Everybody Out There,' we'd basically done the whole song in six hours, from start to finish. Paul looked at me at the end and went, 'Wow, that was like Beatles pace!'"
  • McCartney said during a Twitter Q&A that he wrote this song to "get the audience singing along."
