Songfacts®:

  • This was the B-side to "Brand New Toy" for the song's limited-edition 7-inch single release done for the 2014 Record Store Day. Weller was unhappy that many people couldn't get hold of the vinyl single in the independent record shops he was supporting, as touts had bought most of the copies up. Weller's fans were forced to pay a lot of money for a copy on eBay. Disheartened by the whole experience, he said he wouldn't be taking part in Record Store Day again.
  • Weller told Uncut magazine about the song: "I liked the shape and sound of the words, but I wasn't particularly thinking what they meant, then after singing it for a little longer, I thought it was my own take on getting older," he said. "Me looking at my mortality."
