• Petey Pablo recorded the rhymes for this Southern hip-hop song over a synth and crunk production by Lil Jon. The Atlanta producer had originally earmarked his beat for Usher's 2004 single "Yeah!." However, the production was given to Pablo by Jive Records without Jon's knowledge. Once "Freek-A-Leek" started getting substantial airplay on Southern hip-hop radio, Lil Jon had no choice but to let Pablo keep the track and create an entirely new instrumental for Usher.
• The song starts off with a fake radio show with Petey Pablo playing the DJ. A man calls in wanting to hear "Freek A Leek," which segues into the first hook.
  
  The remainder of the song is very sexually explicit; it mainly comprises Pablo rattling off the names of different sexual positions and the names of girls he's fornicating.
• Ciara's 2004 hit single "Goodies" was penned as a female answer song to "Freek-a-Leek." Pablo supplied the rapping on that track.
• Saweetie's 2019 hit song "My Type" features a prominent sample of "Freek-A-Leek."
