Keyboard man Patrick Leonard, who did session work on the album, earned a co-writing credit on this song along with Gilmour. Leonard is known for his collaborations with Madonna; his co-writes with her include "Like A Prayer" and "La Isla Bonita."

Outside musicians had more creative input on the A Momentary Lapse of Reason album because it was the first one without founding member Roger Waters.
This song uses some bits of dialogue from the 1942 film Casablanca, which can be heard in the last 45 seconds of the track. The dialogue is from a scene near the end of the film when Rick (Humphrey Bogart) puts Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) on a plane. The song title, "Yet Another Movie," is a reference to his - it doesn't appear in the lyric.

But we are "just the same as all the rest, not the worst, not the best" And as we age we ride into the setting sun, tears streaming, because we do realize we are meaningless in the history of life. We will die and be remembered no more. Because we are just the mediocre everyday person.

I searched the lyrics 2 this song, and i found this @ the end. So the song could be about WW2 & the terrors of it. Just a thought.
Tim from Syracuse, NyFrankly, I think this song makes me think of the sorry state of cinema during the 80's[Total Recall anyone?]... but it's still got that wierd feel to it, similar to the strangeness of 'One Of These Days'
John from New York, Nythe dialogue at the end of the song, sounds alot like Humprey Bogart talking to Ingrid Bergman in a scene at the end of Casablanca.
