  • In an interview with The Sun March 26, 2009, the interviewer commented that the line, "cracks in the canvas are like roads that never end," is particularly effective. Harvey replied: "I was very pleased with that line. I often write lyrics that have nothing to do with music, sort of poem lyrics, and that was one of those. The starting point was a child's lullaby."
