Songfacts®:

  • This appears as a hidden track on I'm Not Dead. It's a duet between Pink and her father, James T. Moore. As she explains before the song, her father wrote it while serving in Vietnam. As a child, Pink used to accompany her father to Veterans' centers and sing it with him - it was the first song she ever learned, ever performed and is, in fact, how she learned to sing. It's a tribute to her father and to war veterans everywhere. >>

  • Pink always told her dad they'd record this tune together when she became famous, but he was surprised when it actually happened. Pink told MTV: "He didn't believe I would just rent a studio and put him in there with a guitar and make him sing. He was so nervous, it was the most adorable experience for a father and daughter to share. He's just such a folk singer, I just love it."
  • With the help of hit singles like "Stupid Girls," "Who Knew," and "U And Ur Hand," I'm Not Dead, Pink's fourth studio album, was a comeback of sorts after the previous album, Try This, was deemed a commercial failure. With 2 million copies sold, I'm Not Dead earned nearly double the sales of its predecessor.
