Songfacts®:

  • This is the opening track of Primal Scream's eleventh studio album, Chaosmosis. Asked by Q magazine what his definition of Chaosmosis is, frontman Bobby Gillespie replied: "It's trying to absorb all the detritus and the wreckage of the world, everything life throws at you externally and internally, then turning it into an art work, which is the resistance to what's happening."
  • The song features Haim on backing vocals. The Haim sisters have been good friends of the band since playing with them at Glastonbury in 2013. "We didn't want to go down the route of getting anonymous session singers who sing on everybody else's records," Bobby Gillespie explained to The Sun. "We knew songs like 100% Or Nothing or Trippin' On Your Love needed bigger choruses than just me singing, so we asked the Haim sisters."

"I remember standing on stage with them and they were so powerful, even more powerful than you hear on their records," he added. "They've got that sisterly super-tight harmony thing going and they're funky, soulful and sexy. They sound like black gospel girls."
