Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single and only previously unreleased track from German Industrial Metal band Rammstein's retrospective, Made in Germany 1995-2011. The English translation of the title is "My Land" and the song is a parodic satire about European xenophobia and Anti-Immigrationists. It was released on November 11, 2011 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and internationally three days later.
  • Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund, who has previously worked with Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and the Prodigy, created the video. It was filmed on May 23, 2011 at Sycamore Beach, in Malibu, California and depicts the band members at a 1964 Southern California beach party. It later cuts to the same location in the present day as we watch Rammstein perform whilst flames shoot from their guitars amidst a carnal circus.

  • VincaThere's more to Mein Land than immigration. Look up 'Lebensraum', 'National Democratic Party of Germany', 'Manifest Destiny in Wiki'. 1964, saw the end one period of reconstruction for the Reichstag, seeing the removal of heraldic statue and decorations that harked back to the mythology of the German past.
  • EddieYes, Acualfacts from Lisbon, Portugal, it is. Get over it.
  • Actualfacts from Lisbon, PortugalThis song is not against anti-immigrationists.
