Songfacts®:

  • Rhonda Vincent calls this a cappella song one of her proudest achievements as a songwriter. She wrote the first four lines while she was performing in Las Vegas and they stuck with her for years until she met up with Country music singer Lisa Shaffer to co-write what would become "His Promised Land." She said in a 2014 Songfacts interview: "I had never had a song that I had written that will move people to their feet. I mean, how amazing is that to have a song like that?"
  • This song was recorded live at Vincent's home church in Greentop, Missouri. She attended the Methodist church ever since she was a child and earned a 5-year pin for perfect Sunday school attendance.

  • Jgheart21 from Loveland, CoI loved this song and carried the name in my wallet so I wouldn’t forget it. I played it for my son and daughter in my husband’s room shortly after he passed after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. It was perfect. Thank you, Rhonda & the Rage Tunes.
