  "I was recording at Quad Studios in New York in a session with Ferg. You know, he was recording some s--t in there. He left and went to another session, real quick. I kept on recording. One of his producers pulled up a beat and instantly when I heard it, I just said 'New freezer.' I was like, 'New freezer! New bitch wanna f--k on my AP!' Because I had the AP on. I just went in there and recorded it."
• The song features a verse by Kendrick Lamar. "I was in the studio recording, over at the Interscope Studios, No Excuses, and then my A&R Manny introduced me to Kendrick for the first time," Rich the Kid explained to Beats 1.   "So he asked me to play some music for him, so I played two records that I had been recording off of my album," the rapper continued. "Right when he heard it, he was like, 'Yo, like who else on this song?' It's just me. He's like, 'Yo I gotta get on this one! This s---'s dumb. This goes crazy.'"
• Rich the Kid recalled the first time he heard Lamar's contribution: "When I heard the verse, I was tripping out. Because this is a whole different type of Kendrick on this song. Like, he going apes--t. On some whole different type s--t. I was like, 'This is some life changing s--t.' I was ecstatic. I was happy."
