Songfacts®:

  • This reworking of the Appalachian folk song "Little Maggie" features Gambian musician Juldeh Camara, a griot and ritti (single-string fiddle) virtuoso, singing in his native tongue, Fulani. "I'm almost uncomfortable introducing this intimate music to the world," Plant admitted to Q magazine. "I don't want anybody saying, 'Oh, where's Jimmy?'"
  • According to Plant, Juldeh Camara's message in Fulani is, "Just have happiness. Not before or in the future, but now." Plant added: "This is a happy brotherhood. As much as I salute the past. I celebrate the present."
