Meter Maid

Album: Electric Sound Show (1970)

Songfacts®:

  • "Meter Maid" was written by Mike Hugg of Manfred Mann and the comedy actor Rodney Bewes. Produced by Hugg and Bewes with music producer Dave Hadfield, it was released in 1970 as the B-side of "Dear Mother Love Albert," and like the A-side has a psychedelic feel to it.

Although they probably won't accuse Hugg and Bewes of plagiarism, Beatles fans will undoubtedly detect a Lennon/McCartney influence here. >>>
