  • This song was written by Bob Dylan and recorded by Dylan during the Blood on the Tracks sessions of 1974. Dylan decided to rewrite the lyrics and record the song as "Shelter From the Storm," keeping the same melody and spare acoustic guitar/bass/harmonica setting of the first version. Much the way he did in his Byrds days, McGuinn electrified the song and turned it into a folk-rock gem. McGuinn apparently picked the song up from Dylan when they were hanging around together during the Rolling Thunder Revue tour, of which McGuinn was a part.
  • The acoustic Dylan version wasn't released until the early '90s when it appeared on the The Bootleg Series Vol. I-III. >>>
