Songfacts®:

  • This Liz Hengber, Alex Kline and Ben Stennis penned song was produced by Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus. Dunn told Billboard magazine he was drawn to the tune as it's not your typical love song. "I like the edge of the title and I like what the guy is saying," the singer explained. "He's not some sissy boy going, 'Hey, love your eyes! Like your hair.' He's going, 'You know what? If you were a whiskey, I'd be a damn drunk!' It's probably the writer in me that attaches me to stuff like that."
  • Dunn reunites with Kix Brooks here. The collaboration came about after Dunn played his longtime music partner the tune. "He said, 'Let me sing a harmony part on it.' I said, 'Are you kidding me?' So I said, 'Alright, come on in. Let's give it a shot,'" Dunn recalled to Rolling Stone Country. "It's that simple. There is no grand scheme to anything."
