Songfacts®:

  • This novelty song about a mouse that wears clogs was recorded by Ronnie Hilton and written by the regular team of Ted Dicks and Myles Rudge, who were no strangers to novelty songs, as Bernard Cribbins will attest. The song is said to have been inspired by the sound of street organs which Dicks heard on a visit to the city.

Backed by "Dear Heart," it was released originally on His Master's Voice in January 1965. >>>
