Songfacts®:

  • Born Roza Kostandyan in Vanadzor, Armenia, Rosa Linn released her debut single in America, "King," in collaboration with US singer Kiiara in September 2021. The following year, Public Television of Armenia (AMPTV) chose Linn to represent Armenia for the Eurovision Song Contest. "Snap" is the song she sang.
  • Linn placed 20th out of the 25 participating countries in the Eurovision Final, scoring 61 points. But following the contest, "Snap" went viral on TikTok and the single charted throughout Europe.

In this song, Linn reflects on how she can't get over her ex. She's reached a snapping point and, feeling like there's no way out, starts questioning everything, including herself. Though her entire world is crumbling down around her, others are unsympathetic, telling Linn she'll get over it.
  • Writing "Snap" was a form of therapy for Linn. What I realized was that I had the strength to shape my reality," she said. "It just took getting out of my own way and finding inner-peace. It's all about self-love and accepting that you are enough."
  • Rosa Linn wrote "Snap" with Larzz Principato, Jeremy Dusoulet, Allie Crystal, Tamar Kaprelian and Courtney Harrell. Tamar Kaprelian is an Armenian-American singer-songwriter who represented Armenia in Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Boston-born R&B songwriter Courtney Harrell has also penned tunes for Kelly Rowland ("Gone," "You Changed") and Ariana Grande ("Better Left Unsaid"). Larzz Principato also co-produced the track. He's worked with Dua Lipa ("IDGAF") and Halsey ("New Americana").
  • Linn wrote "Snap" when she was on an emotional roller coaster. "I was heartbroken, confused, scared," she told Apple Music. "I was living in a tiny town in Armenia; it affected my mental health and I was at a total snapping point - something I think we can all relate to."
  • "Snap" scores the final moments and end credits of the eighth episode of the Apple TV+ comedy-drama television series Shrinking. It plays after Jimmy Laird grounds his daughter Alice for her misbehavior. The music sets in as he experiences an epiphany.
