Songfacts®:

  • In his 2011 autobiography (co-written by Joel Selvin), Hagar said this song is "me trying to write like Van Morrison."

This was not entirely surprising because Morrison turned up at the Record Plant when Hagar was recording his Musical Chairs album. Hagar had also recorded the Van Morrison track "Flamingos Fly."
  • "You Made Me Crazy" was released as a single on Capitol Records, reaching #62 in the US. There were various formats; in the UK it was released as a promo backed by "Reckless"; in Spain, the B-side was "Hey Boys"; while the US promo was the same song on both sides in stereo and mono, both versions running to 2 minutes 25 seconds. >>>
