Songfacts®:

  • At a June 2016 listening session for Blank Face, Schoolboy Q revealed TDE distributor Interscope Records insisted in recruiting R&B singers Miguel and Justine Skye for this song. They did this with the intention of recreating the success of his 2014 Hot 100 hit single, "Studio." Although Schoolboy Q was originally against the idea of including a manufactured radio record on his album, he ultimately agreed the label had been wise to do so.
  • When the album's production credits were revealed, it was noted that Kendrick Lamar landed a writing credit. In an interview with Hot 97, Schoolboy Q addressed his TDE labelmate's contribution: "I wasn't there to see him produce it but I remember seeing Cardo produce it," he said. "I mean I think Kendrick got some background vocals. He's done a lot of background vocals for me."
