  • Lead singer, Shaun Morgan, on writing songs: "I write a lot of my songs on acoustic guitar and then take it into the band. Then once the band hears it, we beef it up and we record it obviously. But it's easier on an acoustic because you can sit in a hotel room, you can sit backstage, or you can sit in the back of a bus. These ideas, whether you hear them as the ultimate ending of distorted and heavy or whether you hear them as exactly what they are while you're playing them on the acoustic, you never really know what it's gonna end up like."
  • When guitarist, Pat Callahan left Seether, the band gave no real reason for his departure. Vocalist, Shaun Morgan was cryptic in his response. Regarding his feelings on the situation, he said, "Um… relieved a little… actually a lot. He was the guy in the band that was always our naysayer, and he was the negative energy as far as writing. I personally have no love lost, which is weird for some reason 'cause he was my friend for four years. But when he walked out, it kinda walked out with him."
  • Vocalist, Shaun Morgan, has 1308 tattooed on his four right fingers, and 2007 tattooed on his four left fingers which marks the day his brother, Eugene died (13/08/2007). Seether's song "Rise Above This" is a tribute to Eugene.
  • Prior to joining Seether, drummer John Humphrey was the drummer for The Nixons. With The Nixons, he released four albums.
  • Shaun Morgan's full name is Shaun Morgan Welgmoed (pronounced "Velgamoot"). He decided to go by Shaun Morgan because Americans had a hard time pronouncing Welgemoed, which means "cheerful" in Dutch.
  • The band lists Portishead, The Beatles, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Korn and Deftones as significant influences and despite their heavier roots, released a cover of the Wham! Song "Careless Whisper" in 2009. The song, according to Shaun and Dale, have a "special significance" to the band.
  • Seether has quite a few songs in movie soundtracks, including, "Out of My Way" for the Freddy vs. Jason Soundtrack, "Sold Me" and "Broken" featuring Amy Lee" for The Punisher soundtrack, "Hang On" for the Daredevil soundtrack, and "Pig" for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre soundtrack.
  • Morgan has been quoted as saying, "I don't know why anybody would want to be like me, I have issues."
  • Seether's 2011 track "Country Song" was recorded in Nashville and has a swampy sound, but don't look for the band to go Country anytime soon. "I never want to be somebody that's part of a trend, or who follows," Shaun Morgan told us. "To be honest, I don't really know enough about Country music to be able to write good Country songs. I could write stuff that's sort of country-esque, but I don't know if I could actually write something that would be considered a proper Country song."
  • Bassist Dale Stewart married his longtime girlfriend Michelle Thomas on September 21, 2019 in Savannah, Georgia. Shaun Morgan served as best man at the event, while guitarist Corey Lowery was one of the groomsmen.

The pair first met at a Seether show in Chicago in September of 2012 when Michelle was in the crowd. Dale asked her in between songs to join him for a drink after the concert. She agreed, and they hit it off straight away.
  • Shaun Morgan dated Evanescence singer Amy Lee between 2003 and 2005. Morgan was battling alcoholism at the time and their relationship inspired Evanescence's single "Call Me When You're Sober." Coincidentally, Morgan checked into rehab the day the song came out.
  • Shaun Morgan married his longtime girlfriend Jordan Kirby in early May 2021. The ceremony took place near the bride's hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

Morgan was previously married to Jill Hollon but they divorced in 2002 as she preferred to stay in South Africa rather than follow the Seether frontman to the US.
