Songfacts®:

  • Sigala's follow-up to "Stay The Night" is a house-inspired EDM song where he pairs up with French DJ David Guetta and British singer-songwriter Sam Ryder. It was the first time any of the artists worked with each other.
  • Ryder sings of the pain of living without his former lover. Sigala and Ruder wrote the song with Tom Grennan, Eddie Serafica, Jin Jin, James Murray, Mustafa Omer and Jarly. Tom Grennan also sings backing vocals and Jin Jin provided the vocal production.
  • Sigala and Guetta produced the song with Sigala's frequent collaborator Jarly ("Just Got Paid," "Lullaby," Wish You Well"). Their buoyant production acts as a counter to Sam Ryder's post-breakup blues.
  • The first time Ryder heard Sigala and Guetta's instrumentation he was heading to Sigala's studio after playing a show. When he came to record his vocals, Ryder felt tight and found it really tough, but Sigala saw enough to know it would work. The "Space Man" hitmaker finished it in his conservatory. My neighbors were right there," he recalled, "just hearing me sing like 'Without You,' like over and over again."
  • Sam Ryder included "Living Without You" as a bonus track on his debut album There's Nothing But Space, Man!
