Songfacts®:

  • The first track released for Snoop's debut gospel project, Bible of Love, this finds Snoop Dogg swapping bars about drugs and pornography for rhymes about God (and drugs).

I know God is calling me
I'm not where I'm supposed to be
    Sitting here smoking trees
When I should be on my knees
    When my words are few
  • Snoop teamed up with gospel artist B-Slade, formerly known as Tonéx, for the song.
  • Asked about his move into gospel music by a TV One host during the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, Snoop Dogg explained:

"It was always in me from the moment I came into the music industry, I always had gospel music influences. "I always referred to my savior Jesus Christ on most of the records that I spoke on; I always had moments that I would reflect on that and let people know that I was a born again Christian. So it was just time for me to actually put my money where my mouth was."
  • The song is a cover version of "When My Words R Few," originally written and performed by Tonéx, before he became B.Slade.
