The idea struck frontman Brett Anderson during a low ebb in his personal life, when a Spanish show unexpectedly lifted his spirits. "It's a Heroes-esque romp around Europe," he laughed to Mojo magazine. "Well, a metaphorical romp. I'm well beyond the actual romping age, I'm afraid."

  On the fans' feral enthusiasm, Anderson admitted: "What is it about Suede fans that makes them so insane? I don't know! The music is about passion. I've always wanted to inspire passion in people."
  
  He also explained his philosophy of live music extremes: "The best live music is always incredibly loud or incredibly quiet, nothing in between. I either go full-on rock or I get my acoustic guitar and go off-mic so no one can quite hear what I'm saying. The drama and juxtaposition between quiet and loud is very important."
