Songfacts®:

  • The B-side of Suede's debut single "The Drowners," this caused some raised eyebrows due to Brett Anderson's lyrics referring to a 'he' being his "insatiable one." The vocalist told Mojo magazine in 2016: "One of the things I was doing as a writer, which was where people decided to mistrust me, was inhabiting different personas. So when I sang about 'he', it was possibly me singing as a woman singing about me – which is what My Insatiable One is. For me, that's what created the frisson, that was exciting for me."
  • The song was notably covered by Morrissey during his 1992 tour.
