• For some guys, going to a strip club is a rite of passage, and you always need a guide - often a father, family member, or friend - who knows the protocol. T-Pain did his part by taking a friend to a strip club for the first time. When they were there, his buddy fell smitten with one of the dancers, so T-Pain paid her to give him a dance.
  
  "I'm N Luv (Wit a Stripper)" was inspired by this memorable night.
• Mike Jones features on this track with a verse where he raps about falling hard for a stripper. He has an advantage though: His VIP status means he doesn't have to pay.
• "I'm N Luv (Wit a Stripper)" was T-Pain's second single, following "I'm Sprung." Both songs are drenched in Auto-Tune, his signature sound. Both songs charted, but many thought the novelty of Auto-Tune would soon wear off and T-Pain would need to stop using it. Those folks were wrong: Many rappers came to him for Auto-Tune treatment, and his second album, released in 2007, was filled with Auto-Tuned hits, including the #1 "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin')."
  
  T-Pain didn't just fire up the software and land on his sound. He spent over a year refining it, figuring out how to combine it with his singing so it doesn't sound too robotic but also catches the ear. The software was introduced in 1997 and started showing up as an effect in pop songs in 1999, but T-Pain was the first to popularize it in hip-hop.
• T-Pain started making this song as a joke after laughing with friends about his strip club experience with his friend. It was meant for their own amusement, but when his label heard it, they knew it was much more than a joke and had him record it. "The fact that it became a hit threw me off," he told USA Today. "I was literally trying to make a bad song but it didn't work."
• Scott Franklin directed the video, where T-Pain pursues a stripper and ultimately wins her over, taking her back to his place.
