Songfacts®:

  • The title track of The 1975's second EP is about lead singer Matt Healy's own romantic adventures. He told Gigwise: "It's not necessarily about one girl, it's just about being seventeen and that happening all the time - the kind of indecisive prudishness of certain teenage girls. A lot of people relate to that, even girls themselves relate to it."
  • The song was first released as the single from the band's Sex EP in 2012. A re-recorded version was released on August 26, 2013 as the lead single from the band's eponymous debut studio album. It included a stripped-down acoustic version of the track as the single's official B-side.
