Songfacts®:

  • "Call You Mine" is an EDM-tinged power ballad with vocals by Bebe Rexha about a fading relationship. The romance started off as "two kids with their hearts on fire" but after a time "things started looking down." However, though there is uncertainty between the lovers, Rexha still wants to "call you mine" and questions the consequences of them breaking up. She declares she couldn't live without her beau and urges him to "turn this all around."
  • The song marks The Chainsmokers' third collaboration with Bebe Rexha, following their remixes of the 2013 song "Take Me Home" by production trio Cash Cash where Rexha was featured, and their remix of her 2014 debut solo single, "I Can't Stop Drinking About You."
  • Directed by Dano Cerny, the song's music video follows Alex Pall, Andrew Taggart and Bebe Rexha on a night out at a Los Angeles nightclub as they move in reverse through a sexy noir thriller. We see Rexha taking the Chainsmokers duo out with some poison before stuffing their lifeless bodies into a Mercedes and fleeing the police. So why did she do it? It seems she just loved the pair a little too much.

Cerny previously worked with the Chainsmokers on their clip for their Halsey collaboration "Closer."
  • This won Best Dance at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
