Songfacts®:

  • This song features the voice of multi-time collaborator Emily Warren. The Chainsmokers' fellow New York City native features heavily on Memories...Do Not Open. She supplied uncredited vocals on the hit single "Paris" and also sings on another track "My Type." Warren previously collaborated with the Chainsmokers on another of their hit tunes,""Don't Let Me Down."
  • The song is about a lover who is losing patience with her partner and wants to end the relationship. The Chainsmokers explained:

"It deals with a couple that is constantly at odds. The relationship nearing the end as the guy f--ks up constantly, and the girl asserts that he needs to not blame life for his mistakes. Many of us use the excuse we are only human, we succumb to the same temptations and battle the same addictions but for the victim, that excuse often falls on deaf ears. We've sat in both seats."
