Songfacts®:

  • Not to be confused with the 1930 Herman Hupfeld composition of the same name, "Sing Something Simple" is less a song than a piece of theme music with words added. It was written by Cliff Adams and Howard Barnes.

In 1959, Adams began presenting a programme of light music called Sing Something Simple for BBC's Radio 2 (then known as the Light Programme), which by the time of his death in 2001 was the longest running continuous music programme in the world.

"Sing Something Simple" had various vinyl releases including on a 1966 LP. >>>
