Songfacts®:

  • Recorded on a Tascam 8-track cassette in The Coral's studio between 2005 -2006, The Curse of Love features a dozen tracks that explore the band's more melancholic side. The record never saw the light of day until 2014 when it was finally released on frontman James Skelly's Skeleton Key label.
  • This is the first cut released from the album. It was debuted on August 24, 2014 by Portihead's Geoff Barrow when standing in for Stuart Maconie on the BBC Radio 6 Music Freak Zone show. (Barrow co-produced The Coral's 2005 The Invisible Invasion album with his Portishead bandmate Geoff Utley)
  • Skelly told NME about the song: "We had this idea of some sort of soundtrack, krautrock, folk thing with our lyrics over it," he said. "We were listening to Scott Walker, Love, John Barry and Can."
