Songfacts®:

  • One of six tracks on The Devil Wears Prada's concept EP Space, "Supernova" is, as lead singer Mike Hranica describes it, "A song about being far, far away, and having a relationship with something that is about to detonate or be gone forever."

Other tracks on the EP, like "Alien" (about an alien creature attacking a spaceship) are pretty straightforward lyrically, but in this one, the supernova could indicate the celestial event, or serve as a metaphor for a person.
