Songfacts®:

  • This was the title track to The Fratellis third album - their first LP in five years. The title comes "just from the idea that life is absurd," lead singer Jon Fratelli told us.

There is an air of longing and desperation on the song and throughout the album, something Jon says is semi-autobiographical, and something his can look at in a lighthearted fashion. "Sometimes it's good to poke fun at yourself and all your inadequacies," he says.
