Songfacts®:

  • Before blogs and online journals, there were diaries. Actual books with blank pages where we could write down our most personal thoughts and keep an ongoing record of our lives. In this Doo Wop favorite, the singer has devoted his diary to his girl to ensure that she will always be remembered.
  • Written by Mark Silverman and Michael Graham, this song didn't get a lot of publicity when it was released, but in later years became popular with Doo Wop fans. The Spinners recorded the song in 1969 with their new lead singer G.C. Cameron. Original Moonglow Harvey Fuqua was a mentor to The Spinners, and produced the track. The spinners version was soulful and slow, much like the original. >>>
