Songfacts®:

  • Parade are a British girl-group comprising Emily Biggs, Jessica Agombar, Sian Charlesworth, Bianca Claxton and Lauren Deegan. The band released their first official single, "Louder" on 13th March 2011 after signing a record deal with Warner Music Group the previous year.
Emily was previously a member of the six-piece girl band Hope, who were finalists in the 2007 series of The X Factor.
  • The track was penned for the band by British producers The Fairground (Jay Sean, Alesha Dixon) and American songwriter Thaddis 'Kuk' Harrell, who co-wrote the 2010 Grammy Award Song of the Year "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)."
  • Jessica told 4music why they decided to go with this as their lead single: "It's so instant. The chorus is so catchy and sticks in your head. Everytime we hear it, it's like the first time. It's special."
  • Lauren explained the song's meaning to Digital Spy: "It's not too deep - it's just straight to the point about wanting to have fun. Initially it was written as a love song, but I think we've interpreted as 'let's just turn this music up and have a party,' so it's somewhere in the middle now."
  • The song's music video was shot by Emil Nava, whose CV includes Jessie J's "Do It Like a Dude" clip. The visual features a raucous house party and is packed with girl power.
