Songfacts®:

  • This song appears to be about unfulfilled love. Both sides long to be together, but circumstances, such as touring, always prevent their relationship from progressing ("And you look good you really do, but now is not the time to mess about, you know I would of, but my hands are tied.").
  • In our interview, The Royal Concept told us this song marked a breakthrough for the band: "'In the End' is an anthem for us. David wrote a lot of ballads for the upcoming album, but we had a lot of problems making them fit with the other up tempo songs. 'In the End' was the first one we felt we succeeded with. It also has the most important lyrics on the EP."
