• "Body Talks" only got completed fairly late in the creative process for The Struts' sophomore album. This was because when the band first started working on the idea, vocalist Luke Spiller didn't like the original version. However once the track was fleshed out, it had grown into something Spiller hadn't expected it to be, which was much more to his taste. He explained to Billboard:
  
  "It's kind of like experimental and you know it's kinda like a dance, blues track basically. Lyrically, it's just written about those few seconds of when you make eye contact with someone and without any saying words you find yourself like moving on towards them. But the actual song itself, like, I wasn't a fan of really."
  
  Spiller added that when the band first started working on "Body Talks" he was "so mentally tired," he was unable to recognize "what was a good song or what was a bad song. "So, yeah everyone around us was like 'That was pretty good. You should finish it,'" he continued. " So we had to finish it and then upon us finishing it I thought, 'Wow this is actually quite good.'"
• This is described in press materials as a "fully charged, blues-dance rock anthem." Spiller explained to The Morning Call:
  
  "It's very hard to kind of write a song in that kind of a tempo and time-signature. You know, like, it kind of swings, it's kind of like … it's stuff like [the Jet song] 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' and 'The Jungle Book' [Laughs]. You know what I mean? It's kind of got that swing to it."
• The Struts released an enhanced version of "Body Talks" featuring American pop songstress Kesha. A longtime fan of the band, Kesha joined The Struts in a Los Angeles studio to re-record the energetic rock tune. Kesha said: "It's a song made for my favorite activity: boogieing."
• The song's innuendo-laced glittery music video was shot in St. Louis, where both artists were making a tour stop. It was directed by Kesha's brother Lagan Sebert, who filmed the American singer's Apple Music documentary Rainbow – The Film.
• Kesha is no stranger to working with rock bands. The pop songstress previously teamed up with Alice Cooper on "What Baby Wants" a track from his 2011 album Welcome 2 My Nightmare and she collaborated with Eagles of Death Metal for two songs ("Let 'Em Talk" and "Boogie Feet") on her 2017 album, Rainbow.
