Songfacts®:

  • "Girls & Boys" was the leadoff single from The Subways second album All Or Nothing. It was issued on March 27, 2008 - almost four months ahead of the full album release.
  • Released as a free download, the song was a chance for the band to showcase how their sound had evolved from the first album onwards - the influence of experienced producer Butch Vig showed in the much heavier, richer sound. The band was also more seasoned after touring alongside bands such as Taking Back Sunday and Foo Fighters.
