Songfacts®:

  • Thompson Square open their sophomore album, Just Feels Good, with this track. It was one of several that they penned during a writing trip to Breckenridge, Colorado with Brett James, whose songwriting credits include hits recorded by Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, and "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not" co-writer David Lee Murphy. "We wrote seven songs that weekend and three or four made the record. Most of them we wrote in the hot tub," Keifer Thompson told The Boot. "But when you have the kind of backdrop you have there ... if you're not inspired there, you're not inspired anywhere! It was absolutely breathtaking. And those guys are great guys, too, not just great writers."
  • The song's music video was directed by Chris Hicky and finds the Thompson couple putting themselves in the shoes of a married couple in the 1950s. The clip was shot at Patsy Cline's final home in north Nashville. The residence was coined 'The House That Vegas Built,' as the "Crazy" singer purchased the home after a successful stint singing in Las Vegas.
  • Keifer Thompson started working on the song with Brett James and David Lee Murphy while Shawna Thompson slept in one morning. The trio then completed it as she got on with some domestic duties. "We had the guitar lick and the idea and first verse. She went over to cook and by the time she got done we had it finished up," Keifer told Radio.com. "The subject matter is everything I shouldn't be thinking about so when you get three guys writing about that, it's not really hard."

He added: "Writing her verse was easy too because we were just writing about what we had hoped she was thinking about."

  • Tom from Madison, WiI like this song. I'm glad it's still climbing up the charts. But I hope, I really hope, Thompson Square and label will chose "Here We Go Again" as the next single. That's their best shot at a big hit. It's a risk only because it rocks more than most on country radio, but it's worth it.
