  • Keifer Thompson co-penned this ballad with the duo's friends, Kellie Pickler's husband Kyle Jacobs and hit songwriter Vicky McGehee. Shawna Thompson told The Boot that she and her husband find a certain comfort level writing with people who know them well as a couple. "One thing we've had to do is find other writers to write with us that know me and Kiefer and know how he talks to me and how I talk to him," she said. "They're almost like part of the family now."
  • The song details the Thompson's early struggles up until their eventual "dream come true" success. "We worked day and night, underneath those Broadway lights," the track details. "Didn't know singing for tips in a pickle jar would change our life." Keifer explained to CMT News: "'That's So Me and You' is basically me and Shawna's story and how we got together."
