We [agreed that] it would be real cool and unexpected to give people something a little more heartfelt - not the club, party, typical record that everybody wanted. We even had a feeling that T.I. was gonna mention that, but we already had a plan for him."
• Timberlake joins T.I. in the Chris Robinson-directed music video, much of which was shot on a road in Lancaster, California. The clip begins with a Bible verse from 1 Corinthians 13:11 as the rapper pledges to leave his old ways behind him ("But when I became a man, I put childish things away") to honor his late friend. He even wears Big Phil's dog tags and includes shots of his friend's tombstone. As for Timberlake, he just wanted to bring his own piano, which meant shutting down a country road to get it on location.
