Songfacts®:

  • The majority of Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head was created straight in the booth. The only rhymes written down were ones that T.I. came up with during his second stint in prison. This song, in which the rapper speaks to himself about the blessings of his life, was one he came up with in jail.
  • The song features Akon. T.I and the Senegalese rapper previously worked together for his T.I. vs. T.I.P album but the track they recorded didn't make the final cut. However they both did feature on the DJ Drama tune, "Day Dreaming."
  • This samples Elton John's early 1970's hit single "Your Song."
