Songfacts®:

  • Toosii (real name: Nau'Jour Grainger) is a rapper/singer from Syracuse, New York, who specializes in R&B love-induced tracks.

Toosii signed with the South Coast Music Group (home of DaBaby) in 2019 and released his debut studio album, Poetic Pain, the following year. This song is his debut Hot 100 hit.
  • Toosii directs the tune toward a love interest, singing it from the stage. He looks for her in the crowd, but she's nowhere to be found as he performs her favorite song. The girl is hurting and Toosii tells her he can help her through the issues she's having with her partner. He describes the perfect man for her; it's him if she would only let him open the gates to her heart.

"'Favorite Song' is about touching every dynamic of what a woman expects from a man," explained Toosii. "It's a heart throbbing, real life, and motivational record."
  • At the beginning and the end, the song samples Tatiana Manaois' 2022 track "You Might As Well."
  • Adelso produced the moving, melodic track. He also served as a producer on "Heartaches" and "City Of Love" from Toosii's 2022 Deluxe EP Boys Don't Cry: Men Do.
  • Khalid seamlessly blends his velvety-smooth voice into the "Favorite Song" remix. He croons a brand-new verse and adds some ad-libs on the chorus.
