Songfacts®:

  • This song, written by Steve Lukather, is a kind of love song. Lukather wrote and sang it for a girl he knew in high school named Meredith Smith. In an interview with Rolling Stone he said that he dated her a few times. They had a lot of fun and a lot of nights together. But then, she and her parents went to New York City and he never saw her again. He was very sad about this and started writing a song about this story, which he released on Tambu. >>

  • Bernard from UsaI believe this song was written by Lukather and Paich following the death of Jeff Porcaro. They're processing what it will be like to go on as a band without him.
  • Leon from Mexico City, MexicoI guess this is a good way to find my favorite songs.
